RBC.500X Clear Intercoat was designed for application over RBC basecoats prior to taping, artwork, and specialty effect techniques. When used as a lock-down coat, RBC.500X seals and protects underlying basecoats and graphics, creating a stable, isolated surface that helps prevent damage during masking, handling, and subsequent paint operations. RBC.500X can also be used as a color blender to soften transitions, control fades, and visually merge colors or effect work. This is especially beneficial for airbrush applications where smooth color flow and seamless transitions are required prior to Candy colors or final clearcoats.
RBC.500X is transparent/clear in the can vs our RBC.00 FX Carrier which is “milky white” in appearance. Although both perform the same function as an intercoat product, RBC.500X is more traditional in appearance and designed specifically for: candy concentrate carrier coats, flake suspension, artwork/airbrush layering and graphic bury coats.
RBC.00 FX Carrier has the same benefits as RBC.500X and will have a milky/cloudy appearance which is created by specific additives that were used during development, like our EVA Technology. Some benefits of FX Carrier include; better metallic control, anti-mottling/striping, fast tape free times, and anti-settling properties.
